Fandango searches for the best blood-curdling screams for its “Scream-Off” social media contest, to be judged by rock legend Slash.
Fandango, the nation’s leading moviegoer destination, welcomes October with a howl via “Scream-Off” (www.fandango.com/scream-off), a spirited social media contest hosted on the site’s new horror film hub, “House of Screams” (www.fandango.com/houseofscreams). From October 1st through October 18th, Fandango’s “Scream-Off” invites fans to submit their best blood-curdling, skin-crawling screams via a video upload on Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #FandangoScreamContest and @Fandango.
During each day of the “Scream Off” Fan Competition, Fandango will select one “Scream of the Day” to be featured on the site and to move onto the next round. At the end of the entry period, from October 21-25, fans will be able to cast their own votes on the top 18 screamers. On October 31, rock legend and horror film producer, Slash, will choose the final winner himself and will crown “The Ultimate Screamer” on Halloween Day.
The winning screamer will be awarded a trip for two to Estes Park, Colorado for a two-night stay at the 104-year-old Stanley Hotel, Stephen King’s inspiration for the terrifying psychological thriller “The Shining.” The winner will receive the Stanley Hotel’s Ghost Adventure Package, including a guaranteed 4th Floor (haunted) room, a K2 Meter for ghost hunting, two glow-in-the-dark Stanley Hotel squishy ghosts and REDRUM mugs. Flights for two to the Rocky Mountains resort will be covered by Fandango, and the winner will also receive a $500 Visa card for spending money.
“House of Screams” is Fandango’s first-ever video and digital content destination dedicated to season’s scariest movies, featuring original and exclusive video and editorial content, and access to advance ticketing at more than 22,000 screens nationwide. Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Famer Slash will co-host with Fandango correspondent Tiffany Smith a special video mini-series titled “Slash’s Screamings,” highlighting the season’s new horror films — from the Chloe Grace Moretz remake of Stephen King’s “Carrie” to the Amber Heard thriller, “All the Boys Love Mandy Lane.” “House of Screams” will also showcase an exclusive 6-minute excerpt from Anchor Bay and Slasher Films’ upcoming horror film, “Nothing Left to Fear,” starring Anne Heche, James Tupper and Clancy Brown, as well as footage from the movie’s star-studded Hollywood screening. “Nothing Left to Fear,” which opens this Friday, features original music produced by Slash.
